Luxembourg: Turkish documents required
Residence, work and family files draw on the same core set of Turkish records. What varies is the freshness the commune expects — and, for cross-border residents, which country each supporting document actually comes from.

Accepted under conditions
Luxembourg files ask for much the same Turkish records as its neighbours. The differences are in timing and in the mix of source countries.
The core set
- Birth record, detailed version showing parentage.
- Marriage or divorce record where relevant.
- A detailed population register extract.
- Criminal record extract.
- For work files, employer letters and the social security employment record.
- For study or recognition files, diploma and full transcript.
Ask the commune, not a national page
Registration and much of the document handling happen at commune level. Its written list is the one to build from, and it may differ in detail from what a general information page suggests.
Sequence by durability
Permanent records — birth, old marriage, diplomas — do not expire and are the slowest to retrieve if something goes wrong. Get them first. Perishable ones — criminal record, current register extract — are quick to obtain and quick to age. Get them last, once the rest is nearly ready. Files that invert this order pay twice for the same document.
The cross-border complication
If you live in Luxembourg and work in Belgium, France or Germany — or the reverse — your supporting documents come from more than one country. Payslips, employment attestations and social security decisions follow the chain of the country that issued them, not of the country where you file. Employment evidence from Türkiye
An employer letter should describe actual duties, not merely a job title, and it works best alongside the central social security record, which does not depend on the employer still existing. See social security employment record.

Administrative records go to the provincial governorate; the criminal record extract, being judicial, goes to the judicial commission. See which authority for which document.
Obtaining them from abroad
A power of attorney lets us request records, handle the endorsement step and ship with tracking, without you travelling. The consular route produces a deed usable directly in Türkiye.
Keep spare certified copies
Turkish offices retain the copy they receive, and a file that touches residence, employment and family matters will present the same record to more than one body. Order duplicates while you are already ordering: each needs its own apostille, but obtaining them together costs one procedure instead of two. A second retrieval a year later, from abroad and under a deadline, is the expensive version of the same task.
