Using Swiss documents in Türkiye
The direction with no ambiguity. Cantonal apostille in Switzerland, courier, then a translation here by someone who has sworn an oath before a Turkish notary office — which is exactly what Turkish offices expect.

A translation made in Türkiye is accepted
Most of this section explains why we may not be the right party for a Swiss-bound file. This page is the opposite case, and here the answer is unambiguous.
Why this direction is clear
Turkish offices expect a translation produced by someone who has sworn an oath before a Turkish notary office. That is what we provide. A translation produced in Switzerland, however good, is generally not what a Turkish counter accepts — the mirror image of the problem in the other direction.
The chain
- Obtain the correct version of the Swiss record.
- Have it apostilled by the chancellery of the issuing canton — this cannot be done in Türkiye.
- Courier it with tracking.
- We translate it into Turkish.
- Where the receiving office requires it, the translation is certified at a notary office.
- We file it, or hand it over ready to file.
Send a scan as soon as the apostille is on
We prepare the translation while the envelope travels, typically saving several days. It is the only genuine overlap available in this chain.
Common uses
- Registering a Swiss marriage or a child’s birth in the Turkish system.
- Recognition of a Swiss degree by the Turkish higher education authority.
- Property and inheritance files involving assets in Türkiye.
- Residence applications for a Swiss citizen living in Türkiye.
Multi-canton documents
If your records come from several cantons, each needs its own apostille from its own chancellery. Ship them together once all are done rather than in instalments — a Turkish office generally wants the complete set.
Certification is not automatic
Some Turkish offices accept the translator’s stamp alone; others want notarial certification too. Ask first: it is an extra step with its own cost. Note also that once certified at a notary office, a document becomes a notarial act, which changes which Turkish authority handles any later endorsement.
The expensive shortcut
Translating in Switzerland to save time. It will be redone here, and the time supposedly saved becomes a doubled cost. Send any existing translation anyway — it is useful as a terminology reference.
Order the copies while you are still there
Turkish offices keep the copy they receive. If the same Swiss record will be needed by a second office — a registry, a bank, a court — order and apostille more than one copy while you are in Switzerland. Repeating the Swiss stage later means a fresh request, a fresh cantonal apostille and a second international shipment, for something that could have been duplicated in a single visit.
